Day 18: Write about your favorite book, movie, song, food, color, and animal.
A blog entry about favorites. Something that in some regards is very easy to nail down and in other areas is not so easy. (Mainly the movie. It’s hard to pick a favorite movie).
Favorite Book: Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
This is the second in a fantasy series, and it’s about how a tree that magically wards a demon realm called the Forbidding become sickened and the quest that Wil Ohmsford has to make with an elven girl named Amberle in order to submerge the tree’s seed in the Bloodfire and restore its health. Overall, it’s my favorite series of books, and I’ve been reading them since Jr. High School. The first book was published in 1985, and he’s still writing them today. AND, they are in the process of making Elfstones of Shannara into a TV Series (which will be on MTV, so let’s see how that turns out). They’re starting the TV Series with the second book, because the first book, Sword of Shanara, has no strong female leads, but Elfstones has a good mix of both male and female leads and less of a Lord of the Rings feel.
Favorite Movie: This is where it gets tricky, because I have a hard time picking out a single movie that I can call a favorite. I guess right now, if I have to choose, my favorite is Perks of Being a Wallflower. It’s about a freshman named Charlie who watches everyone from the side until he befriends a couple of seniors. All the while, Charlie struggles with things that happened to him in his past. It’s a great movie with both humorous and dark twists throughout. It’s one of the few movies that I actually cried during, and I’m awesome enough to admit that! Haha ^_^
Favorite Song: Careful by Paramore. I won’t go into this too much, because there was a blog post on Day 8 specifically about my favorite song. You can click on that link if you want to read about it. Though, I think anybody reading this probably already has read it. ^_^
Favorite Food: Lasagna ; Despite knowing how to make it myself now, one request that I always have at some point whenever I’m around home is that mom makes lasagna. It’s always better when it comes from mom. I’ve made her recipe for several of my friends, and I think they’ve all liked it so far. I think she got the recipe from Amy, so technically it’s her recipe. ^_^
Favorite Color: Black if you consider that a color (a lot of my artistic friends do not) and Blue if you don’t consider Black to be a color. Haha
Favorite Animal: Polar Bear. They are epically awesome animals for whatever reason. I’m not really sure what draws me to like them so much. I’ve never seen one in the wild (just in zoos), though it would be cool to go out on one of those expeditions in the giant-wheeled trucks someday to do some Polar Bear watching. I have no idea how much that trip costs, though.
