Welcome to 2022!

Ok, so I realize I’m about 11 days late to the party of wishing a Happy New Year, but better late than never, right? Personally, I’m wading very carefully into 2022–taking one tippy toe at a time and putting it in the water sloooooowly. We’ve all seen how the past couple years have played out, yeah?

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want my goals and aspirations to be over the next year, and I think the biggest on my list is focusing more on my self-care. I’d like to know what it would be like to say that I go go go all the time–but I tend to be just the opposite. I get home from work and hang out in front of the TV, play games on my computer (which probably won’t change that drastically in that regard), and neglect getting up and about.

I was doing yoga for a while, and I think it would be a good idea to get back into that. I enjoyed it, and it really did improve my physical health while I was trying to lose weight (spoiler alert: after I left Noom, I gained back everything I lost…it wasn’t for me. Even maxing out my calorie budget and going over on a lot of days was leaving me feeling like I was starving. Come to find out, Noom doesn’t really personalize a course just for you. If you’re male, you start out with around a 1400 calories per day budget, and if you’re female, you get 1200-ish. That’s a rant for another time, though.) So, finding some self-care and ways to get active will be one of my goals. I’m not a gym person, I’ve discovered, so I’ve gotta get creative with some things that I’d want to try.

My second big focus thing for 2022 is related to my professional development. More specifically, I want to take my clinical licensure exam again and pass it. I failed the first time I took it by about 9 points. It was a major let down at the time. But I have to give myself credit for being close.

Finally, I want to be on here writing more. This goal may be a little hit or miss once I start hitting the books to study for my licensure exam again, but I barely posted anything last year. I have been writing in my journal like a champ, but I want to start getting more content out there. Because writing is really one of my favorite things to do! ^_^

If you’re reading this, what are you focusing on for 2022?

Stay safe and healthy. Be kind. Be you.
